Description
Although it originated in London, it is now produced in Scotland. The first production of Tanquery gin dates back to 1830 by Charles Tanquery, in the Bloomsbury district of London.
During the Second World War, the distillery was seriously damaged. The only facility that survived the bombing was moved to Camero Bridge near Edinburgh, Scotland. The local water was different in character.
Their solution was to use two different types of water in the production of gin. Water drawn from deep wells would be mixed with demineralized water to reflect the character of London water.
