Description
Inky, quite dark purple color. The scent is dominated by herbal character, which brings an interesting mixture of aromas of Mediterranean herbs and coniferous resin, enriched with valerians of tobacco, cassis, leather and smoke. Firm on the palate, compact and layered, it offers flavors of dark berries, mocha and dark chocolate. It has balanced acidity, firm tannins and pronounced minerality.
Château de Pez is located in the northern part of the Saint-Estéphe appellation. In the 17th century, this castle was owned by the Pontac family, which also owned Château Haut-Brion. Today it is owned by the champagne house Louis Roederer, since 1995. The wines produced at this estate have a reputation for excellent quality at affordable prices.
