Description
Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a red wine obtained by blending 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Croatina and 5% Oseleta varieties. Amarone is considered a premium wine originating from the Veneto region and its incredible aromas come from a strict selection of grapes that are harvested and sorted exclusively by hand. The healthiest and ripest fruits are placed in crates in a well-ventilated room to dry for 3-4 months. After this period, the grapes are pressed and left to ferment on the skins for 15-20 days at a temperature of 23°-25°. The wine is aged for 36 months in large-volume French and Slavonian oak barrels, and then for another year in the bottle. Aging potential is 15-25 years.
Colour: Dark ruby red.
Smell: Aromas of hummus, rhubarb, licorice root, sandalwood, cherry, chocolate and tobacco.
Taste: Dense, elegant, with a beautiful balance of fruit and tannins, long finish.
