Description
The wine that almost overnight made the winery from the slopes of Fruška Gora famous and became one of the best sellers in Serbia. Alma Mons has an intense purplish red color with a purple sheen. A complex wine with accentuated aromas of black forest berries, where the scents of blackberries and plums stand out.
It pairs brilliantly with the oak that gives it a hot spicy character and is refined by a modest hint of vanilla in its background. On the palate, its fullness of body, structure, complexity of aromas, mineral components that merge with its freshness and lively tannins are revealed. In the very finish, it shows how persistent and penetrating it is with good texture, intensity and inherent balance of layering. Very suitable for long maturation and aging.
It will be excellent with all red meat and game, just like with roast ribs. But you should definitely try it with a fruit-rich kuglof or those old-fashioned puddings filled with whipped cream. Don’t forget, Vojvodina wines go well with rich cuisine, and no winemaker will lose sight of that part of tradition. But Alma Mons can also be enjoyed “out of nowhere” on the windy terrace. Only if you know how to stop in time. And that is not easy with this wine.
