Description
Planeta Cometa 2020 is a dry white wine of 100% Fiano variety. Fiano is an Italian wine grape variety that is primarily grown in southern Italy and Sicily. Intense and fruity aromas, excellent structure and mineralogy today makes it one of the most important white wines of southern Italy. The soil is moderately deep, with little lime and a very chalky structure. The grapes are picked by hand, packed in 15 kg crates and cooled to around 12-13 °C. The stalks are then removed, crushed and sent to soft pressing and static settling in stainless steel at low temperature, 6-7 °C. After that, it is decanted and fermented in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels where it is left on the primary lees, with daily mixing with a buttoner or shaker.
Colour: Straw yellow, with a hint of green.
Smell: Delicate aromas of chamomile, hay, mango, pomelo and thyme.
Taste: Minerality with a silky taste of ripe apricot, almond blossoms and basil on the finish.
